Provides access to a variety of shareware, often with very good features and low cost. Discovery Girls is a magazine for girls 8-12, by girls and for girls. It requires a subscription for full participation but there are online quizes, summaries, etc. The Parenting Project (US) is an association of parents, students, educators, professionals, and advocates of parenting education for children and teens. The site contains resources, articles, and information for those advocating for and teaching in parenting education programs. Men for Change started in Halifax with curriculum guides for junior high grades focused on healthy Relationships. The interest and action has spread globally. Information on this site about Grassroots project grants that teachers can apply for to support integrating technology into their teaching, schools, and classrooms. This is the site of the Family and Consumer Sciences Education association (US). It provides a good directory of the state supervisors in family and consumer sciences throughout the United States, and an overview of the "content standards" of the National Standards for Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences Education is now an on-line journal. You can access full articles of recent issues, and guidelines for submitting articles and publishing in the Journal. This is the site of the American Association for Family and Consumer Sciences. There is much information about the Association on this site, its many programs, projects, and purposes. Two of particular interest to educators are a Life Skills Course Outline (grade 11/12, and a guide to Recruiting Family and Consumer Science Educators. Access Integrated Resource Packages (curriculum) for Home Economics 8 - 10 and 11/12 on-line at these BC Ministry of Education sites.
